The Higbee-Lovell Love Story

It all started in the fast-paced world of Florida politics. Hannah was doing political research; James was out in the field helping local campaigns win races. They didn’t know each other yet, but Hannah appeared in a photo with a mutual acquaintance.One night in 2024, James pulled their mutual acquaintance aside and said, “Who is that in your photo? She’s the most beautiful girl I’ve ever seen. Will you introduce me?” The acquaintance laughed and delivered the bad news: Hannah was married. Undeterred, James asked, “Any chance I could steal her away?” The answer was a firm no.A few months later, that marriage ended, and James tried again. “Now? Can you introduce us now?” The answer was still no.But Hannah had overheard the whole saga. She found James’ number and sent him a selfie. That was all it took. Texts turned into long phone calls, phone calls turned into daily FaceTimes, and finally they agreed to meet in person at Fish Camp in St. Augustine.The first date was easy, electric, and over far too soon. James drove the next two weekends to take Hannah out again. On the third weekend, he decided to up the ante; he sent a car and driver to bring her to Jacksonville “just for the weekend.” She arrived with a small bag… and never really left.They spent that first fall and winter falling hard; lazy mornings on the balcony, cooking together, cheering on the Jags, and discovering how perfectly they fit. On Valentine’s Day 2025, surrounded by the magic of Disney World, they said “I love you” for the first time.Since then, life has been one big adventure; traveling to Idaho to visit Hannah’s dad, exploring Los Angeles so James could share pieces of his past, flying to London together to watch the Jaguars play across the pond.On November 14, 2025, James surprised Hannah with a sunset flight in a small plane from a private airfield in Jacksonville. Before they took off, he got down on one knee and asked her to be his forever. Through happy tears, she said yes.From a bold selfie to a lifetime promise above the St. Johns River; this is the story of how Hannah finally let James steal her away… and how they’re never letting go.

What Guys Need to Know About Dress Codes

Cocktail attire is suggested, but most importantly we want you all to be comfortable. Our wedding colors are sage and gold, so we appreciate you avoiding these colors in addition to white) if you are not in the wedding party.

This nonsmoking Hyatt Regency Jacksonville hotel is adjacent to the St. Johns River and 6 minutes' walk from shops and dining at Jacksonville Landing. Features include a rooftop pool and free WiFi. All accommodations feature a flat-screen cable TV, safety deposit box, and desk. A small refrigerator and coffee-making facilities are also provided. Some rooms include a river view. Guests at the Hyatt Regency Jacksonville Riverfront can stay active in the 24-hour fitness center. A free shuttle is provided within Jacksonville city center within a 3 mi radius. The hotel features three dining options including Market, open 24/7 serving freshly brewed coffee, pastries and grab-and-go snacks and meals, and SHOR Seafood Grill and Tavern, featuring regional seafood and other signature entrees. Located in Central Jacksonville, this waterfront hotel overlooks the St. Johns River. Lexington Hotel and Conference Center features an outdoor pool with a sundeck and the on-site Currents Lounge. Southbank Hotel Jacksonville Riverwalk guestrooms are furnished with a large work desk, a 42-inch flat-screen TV, and a Keurig coffee machine. Some rooms have a balcony with a river view. Southbank Hotel Jacksonville Riverwalk provides a car rental desk. Free access to a fitness center and a 24-hour business center is provided. A guest laundry is on site.
